The Federation of Saint Kitts and Nevis is a small two-island nation in the Caribbean Basin. It is the smallest nation in the Western Hemisphere and boasts the oldest Citizenship By Investment program, established in 1984; shortly after the island obtained independence from the United Kingdom. Investment Options

  •   Donation (Sustainable Growth Fund "SGF"): A nonrefundable financial contribution to government fund, depending on number of applicants and their ages.

Single applicant $150 000
Main applicant plus spouse $175 000
Main applicant plus three dependents $195 000
Any additional dependant $20 000
  •  Real Estate: Investment in a government-approved real estate project which includes either a freehold property, hotel shares, or fractional ownership.

Minimum investment (hold for 7 years) $200 000
Minimum investment (hold for 5 years) $400 000

  Government Fees (Real Estate Option Only):

When the application is approved, the following government fees will apply:

Main applicant $35 000
Main applicant and spouse $25 000
Dependent (regardless of age) $10 000
Additional dependant (sibling of main applicant or spouse) $40 000

  Due Diligence Fees (both Options):

Compulsory background checks are required and payable to government-preferred international due diligence agencies to screen applicants in process (ie: Interpol).

Dependent (over 16) $4 000

Other Fees:

Processing fee (per person on the application) $250
Certificate of Registration (per person on the application) $50
Expedited passport fee (per person on the application) $1 200
Escrow fee (for Real Estate Option only) $2 000

 Accelerated Application Process (AAP):

Approved in 2016, allows applications to be accelerated to within 60 days; some applications can be completed in as little as 45 days with either the Donation or Real Estate Investment options. Accelerated fees are as follows:

Main Applicant $25 000
Any additional dedpendant (over 16) $25 000

The AAP figures are inclusive of Due Diligence fees. 'Other Fees' as written above will apply. For this process, an additional fee of $500 US (per person) will be applicable for passport processing. Government fees (Real Estate Option) will also apply as usual.

 Timeline & Process

Application for citizenship of St.Kitts and Nevis will take approximately 4-5 months with the Investment or Real Estate options. Those applying with the Accelerated Process (AAP) can expect to have their passport in as little as 45 days to a maximum of 60 days.

STEP ONE You are appointed a specialized team member to advise on the collection of all required documentation.

when the Kittitian government receives the due diligence report. Once accepted you are requested to pay the
donation or investment.
STEP FOUR A Naturalization Certificate and your passport are issued in your name and couriered to you.

Legal Basis

The program was established in 1984 and is based on the Chapter VIII (Sections 90-95) of the Constitution, and Section 3 (5) of the Citizenship Act, 1984 (No. 1 of 1984).


Any person can apply for naturalization and may be eligible for citizenship on payment of prescribed fees, if the Cabinet is satisfied that such person has invested substantially in St. Kitts and Nevis.
